Here is an excerpt from the book:
I remember the day I first saw Max and Luna. I was at the local shelter, looking for a dog to adopt. I had always wanted a dog, but I had never had the time or money to get one. But now, I was finally ready.
I walked into the shelter and immediately saw Max. He was a big, black pit bull with a white chest. He was sitting in the corner of his cage, looking sad and scared. I went over to him and started to talk to him. He wagged his tail and licked my hand. I knew right then and there that he was the dog for me.
I then saw Luna. She was a small, brown shepherd mix with big, floppy ears. She was sitting in a cage next to Max, and she was just as scared as he was. I went over to her and started to talk to her. She wagged her tail and licked my hand. I knew right then and there that she was the dog for me, too.
I adopted Max and Luna that day, and we have been together ever since. They have been through thick and thin with me, and they have always been there for me. They have helped me to heal from my past traumas, and they have given me the strength to move on.
I am so grateful for Max and Luna. They are the best thing that has ever happened to me.
